Hello Parents and Players!!
I want to give you an update about the happenings in
the program. Again, remember to check this blog frequently
as well, to keep up to date on things.
Recently I gave the players a list of summer items. I
realize coming in that there may be a lot of conflicts
with items that were planned long ago, before you ever knew about the basketball items. My hope is that the players participate in the events that they are available
for this first summer. Remember, the harder we work in the
offseason, the better our first season will be next year. For
the future, my hope is that we all recognize what an
important month June is with regard to basketball
opportunities. This is "the month", so to speak, where
most of the camps and opportunities are offered for
basketball improvement. I understand there will always be
conflicts, and expect that. I also undertand that these
summer things are optional (unlike practices,
etc. during the regular season from November to February).
But, I am also hopeful that we can all work together and
hopefully get the girls to participate in as many of the
events as possible, especially the team oriented ones. I
am also hopeful that for the summer of 2010 and beyond, we
are all on a closer page, where perhaps trips, etc., can
be scheduled more in the months of July and August, and
hopefully avoid some of the conflicts. Again, I understand
this is not always possible, but sometimes we can work
things out, and it is really beneficial for the players to
be able to participate in these events when possible.
Please have your players return the hand-outs regarding
summer opportunities to me ASAP, as many of the camp
entries are due in the next 2-3 weeks. This allows me to
plan and see what events we will have enough players to
field teams for, and what events we may not be able to
attend. If your daughter did not receive one of these papers for some reason, please contact me ASAP and I can e-mail you a copy.
Also, for sign up forms for our Maple Mountain
fundamentals camp, check the MM school website. Access the
link for girls basketball, and you should be able to print
the form out from there. (Or just click on the link in the previous post below)
Lastly, I just want to thank everyone for their continued
support and efforts. I completely understand how hectic
this time of year is for everyone (I'm right there with
you:) ). Thank you so much for taking the time and effort
to help your daughters become the best they can be.
Everyone has been great to work with this spring, and I am
beyond excited for the future!
As always, feel free to contact me any time with any
questions, etc.
Thanks again!!!
I'll see you in the gym soon!!
